A few words about this painting, since so many of you are asking me about the symbolic meaning. As you may know, Yoni is one of the most primeval forms of the goddess. She represents the origin of life, the womb or “secred temple” in Hindu philosophy, the creative force of the Shakti/Devi. She’s doing a “yoni mudra” with her hands (a symbolic hindu gesture that represents the woman’s vulva and the primal female energies) and behind her you can see the moon phases which represent the female fertility. In this case the antlers contribute to convey the idea of the fertile uterus (just look at a picture representing the uterus, you can actually see the “horns”). Studying archaeology I noticed that from the neolithic period (and even before, if we think about the paintings in the Chauvet Cave in France - upper paleolithic) the female archetype is frequently associated with horns and bucraniums (Marija Gimbutas wrote an interesting essay about this).

Here are ten ways to overcome imposter syndrome (ShriverReport.org)
Wow, I didn’t know there was a name for it.
It is so validating/oddly comforting having a name put to something you’ve been feeling almost constantly for the past several years of your life. It’s like a big hug and someone saying “You are not alone. What you feel is real and valid, and wrong - you are not worthless. It’s a lie’
This is painfully me. Even right now, when I’m able to admit that I am, at last, at the peak of my game in my occupation… I wonder if I’m actually just lying to myself.
Everyone please take the time to report Beau Miller (https://twitter.com/swerveodactyl) of Port Orchard, WA.
These are just two of the disgusting things he has posted over the past few days.
File your report under ‘threats of violence’ and direct link to this tweet.

Even if Twitter won’t do anything about this garbage, I want to boost the hell out of this. Get his face spread everywhere so we can all avoid him forever.
I’m sorry but how do people like this even exist?
How is it even possible to even think like that like how what what makes you think like that
And people claim that it was an isolated event. Oh please.
A sensual Earth spirit. She represents the element of Earth- grounding, nurturing, fertile. Earth’s nature is patient, steadfast, practical and wise. It symbolizes the material, the body, our Mother Planet, fertility and stability.
“The earth does not belong to us. We belong to the earth.”
― Chief Seattle, The Chief Seattle’s Speech
An ecstatic Air spirit soars aloft. She represents the element of Air- expansive, enveloping, essential to Life. Air’s nature is fresh, cleansing, communicative and uplifting. It symbolizes the immaterial, the soul, the breath, the intellect, and freedom.
“I would like to be the air that inhabits you for a moment only. I would like to be that unnoticed and that necessary.” ― Margaret Atwood
A serene Water spirit. She represents the element of Water - quenching, cleansing, essential to Life. Water’s power is pure, fluid, flexible, soothing and deep. It is symbolizes the subconscious, intuition and adaptability."Water, thou hast no taste, no color, no odor; canst not be defined, art relished while ever mysterious. Not necessary to life, but rather life itself,
thou fillest us with a gratification that exceeds the delight of the senses.”
“Water is fluid, soft, and yielding. But water will wear away rock, which is rigid and cannot yield. As a rule, whatever is fluid, soft, and yielding will overcome whatever is rigid and hard. This is another paradox: what is soft is strong.” — Lao Tzu
"O! for a muse of fire, that would ascend the brightest heaven of invention." — William Shakespeare

What really frightens me is that when I first started watching GoT, I seriously did not like Sansa. And looking back, that freaks me out to realize that it was because she was feminine and realistically acting her age. I hated her “weakness” and didn’t see it as strength UNTIL someone pointed it out to me. and that we’re actually very alike. But as a character, I am driven to dislike her. Internalized misogyny skews our view of so many actually great characters and it makes me sad when even people who identify as feminists are tricked by its nastiness.
also can we talk about how much I love Sophie Turner for saying this. She is just as amazing as her character— I LOVE the actors who stand up for their characters and understand them on such a deep level.
I found some old art books today called ‘Celtic Art: The methods of Construction by George Bain’ Which, I found interesting. I only have 4 out of the 7, they are very old (From 55 years ago). I thought I would just share some scans from them, some people might find them useful. :)
Ohhhh horror vacui neat to see tutorials on it.
I HAVE THIS BOOK!
